NEET UG Counselling 2026: Complete Guide

After months of preparation, the NEET UG examination is finally over, and now the next big step is NEET UG Counselling 2026. Every year, lakhs of students qualify for NEET, but many lose good opportunities simply because they don't understand the counselling process properly.

Whether you are aiming for a Government Medical College, a Private Medical College, Dental College (BDS), Deemed University, or studying MBBS abroad, understanding the counselling procedure is extremely important.

This guide explains the complete counselling process in very simple language so that students and parents can easily understand every step.

What is NEET UG Counselling?

NEET UG Counselling is the admission process through which qualified NEET candidates get seats in MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS and other medical courses. Admission is not based only on your NEET score. During counselling, students register online, choose colleges, lock their preferences, and receive seat allotments according to:

  • NEET Rank
  • Category
  • Reservation
  • Seat Availability
  • College Preference
  • Counselling Round
